Ski & Snowboard Lessons can lead to a lifelong love for these awesome winter sports!

When we say FREE we mean just that!  
Founded in 1942 - Over 83 seasons, the Lookout Pass Free Ski School has introduced about 38,000 kids to the wonderful winter world of skiing and riding.

  • MUST ATTEND A FREE SKI SCHOOL LESSON WITHIN FIRST 2 WEEKS OF PROGRAM START DATE TO PARTICIPATE! 
  • FREE SKIING LESSONS for boys & girls age 6-17  |  FREE SNOWBOARDING LESSONS for boys & girls age 7-17 
  • 2024-25 CLASSES for BEGINNERS start at 12:15 pm & run thru 1:30 pm (PST), classes will meet at their assigned flag. (No late registration after 1/18). 8 BEGINNER classes, 1/4, 1/1, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, (No Class 2/15), 2/22, - Then 3/1 Test Day - Then 3/8 Annual BBQ & Awards.
  • 2024-25 CLASSES for INTERMEDIATES & ADVANCED start at 10 am (PST) end at 11:30 am (PST), (No late registration after 1/18) There are 7 Class dates for Int-Adv: 1/4, 1/1, (No Class 1/18 for Int. & Adv. as its MLK Holiday Weekend), 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, (No Class 2/15 as its Presidents Holiday), 2/22 - Then 3/1 Test Day - Then 3/8 Annual BBQ & Awards. 
  • FSS TEST DAY to see if you are ready to move to the next ability level is the last day for Lessons 3/1/2025.
    Please ask your instructor for more details. 
  • FINAL DAY - GRADUATION CLASS & BBQ for all Beg-Int & Adv levels will be held on 3/8/2025.   

WHERE TO GO on the first day of the program 

WHEN COMING TO THE AREA, STOP INTO THE LOWER SECTION OF THE LODGE ON THE PARKING LOT SIDE TO REGISTER, THEN YOU'LL BE DIRECTED WHERE YOUR STUDENT’S CLASS WILL MEET!
IF YOU DON’T REGISTER YOUR STUDENT FIRST, THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO A CLASS.

*EVEN IF YOU REGISTERED ONLINE - YOU NEED TO CHECK IN AT THE LOWER LEVEL OF THE LODGE OR YOUR REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE COMPLETED AND YOUR STUDENT WON’T BE ALLOWED IN CLASS.

 

  • EQUIPMENT & LIFT TICKETS NOT INCLUDED (no lift ticket needed during the lesson sessions, BUT a SEASON PASS or Daily Lift Ticket allows you to keep skiing or riding before and after your lesson). And they are really affordable for youth. ORDER YOUR SEASON PASS HERE! 
  • THE RENTAL SHOP @ Lookout Pass - Has all the skis, poles, boots and snowboard equipment you need. It is important that you get good equipment that fits correctly. Poor fitting equipment (too large, too long, too stiff, too old) is dangerous and makes it much harder for the kids to learn.
    ORDER your Lookout Pass SEASON LONG RENTALS PACKAGES BEFORE THE DEADLINE.
    Quantities are limited in each size.    
  • PURCHASE LIFT TICKETS IN ADVANCE if you don't have a Season Pass - Advance Purchases will save you $5/ticket or get an Advantage Card. Frst Lift Ticket is free with the Advantage Card. then cardholders save $10/ticket at the ticket window.
