Route of the Hiawatha
The Route of the Hiawatha is open daily for the summer season. This 15 mile rail-to-trail adventure has been described as "one of the most scenic stretches of railway in the country". The trail includes 9 train tunnels, including the 1.66 mile long St. Paul Pass Tunnel, plus 7 sky high trestles. The best part is..... it's all a gentle downhill with shuttle buses at the bottom trailhead available to take you and your bike back to the top!
Trail and shuttle tickets plus bike rentals are avilable at the Lookout Pass Ski Area base lodge located right along Interstate 90, Exit 0, at the Idaho-Montana state line. 12 miles east of historic Wallace, Idaho.
