7th Annual Boyd Hill Snowskate (Binding Free) Banked Slalom contest hosted by Boyd Hill & Lookout Pass Ski & Recreation Area on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
Boyd Hill utilizes equipment manufactured in conjunction with Spokane Master Ski Builder, TJ Sneva.
This event will be held in the Rolling Thunder - Natural Terrain Park. The course layout is a natural banked slalom. Runs will be timed on a technical banked course, challenging riders to carry speed from top to bottom.
Registration opens at 8am and runs thru 8:45am on the Idaho side of the Base Lodge behind the Food Services Cashier. Lift Tickets are reduced for competitors to just $47 for all ages (Regularly $52). This does not include the $20 cost to register for the competition. Tickets are valid for the entire day and will be available for competitors at registration by issuing them a coupon, that they will then need to redeem for the discounted lift ticket at the ticket window.
Competitor Release: Please understand a Parent or Guardian must sign the liability form for those ages 17 and under who want to compete. Registration runs 8 am to 8:45 am. on the ID side of the Food Court behind the Food Service cashier stand.
Event begins at 10 a.m. at top of the mountain. Two timed runs per athlete - Scored for best time.
Snowskates are binding free, skateboards for the snow.
A small ski/snowboard on the bottom referred to as a "sub". Aluminum trucks rise a skateboard deck above the sub with foam grip tape and a leash to insure the skate doesn't run away from a rider after a crash.
