Ski & Snowboard Lessons can lead to a lifelong love for these awesome winter sports!

When we say FREE we mean just that!  
Founded in 1942 – Over 83 seasons, the Lookout Pass Free Ski School has introduced about 38,000 kids to the wonderful winter world of skiing and riding.

  • MUST ATTEND A FREE SKI SCHOOL LESSON WITHIN FIRST 2 WEEKS OF PROGRAM START DATE TO PARTICIPATE! 
  • FREE SKIING LESSONS for boys & girls age 6-17  |  FREE SNOWBOARDING LESSONS for boys & girls age 7-17 
  • 2025-26 CLASSES for BEGINNERS start at 12:15 pm & run thru 1:30 pm (PST), classes will meet at their assigned flag color.
    7 BEGINNER classes, 1/3, 1/10, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/21, 2/28 (No Class 1/17 MLK or 2/15 President. Weekend).
  • 2025-26 CLASSES for INTERMEDIATES & ADVANCED start at 10 am (PST) & end at 11:30 am (PST), 
    7 INT & ADV classes, 1/3, 1/10, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/21, 2/28 (No Class 1/17 MLK or 2/15 President. Weekend). 
  • FSS TEST DAY to see if you are ready to move to the next ability level is the last day for Lessons 2/28/2026.
    Please ask your instructor for more details. 
  • FINAL DAY – GRADUATION CLASS & BBQ for all Beg-Int & Adv levels will be held – Likely 3/7/2026. Please see their site to verify.

WHERE TO GO on the 1st day of the program

WHEN COMING TO THE AREA, STOP INTO THE LOWER SECTION OF THE HISTORIC LODGE – COME UP THE CEMENT STEPS & GO THRU THE RED DOOR.
IF YOU DON’T REGISTER YOUR STUDENT FIRST, THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO A CLASS.

*EVEN IF YOU REGISTERED ONLINE – YOU NEED TO CHECK IN AT THE LOWER LEVEL OF THE LODGE OR YOUR REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE COMPLETED AND YOUR STUDENT WON’T BE ALLOWED IN CLASS.

  • EQUIPMENT & LIFT TICKETS ARE NOT INCLUDED (no lift ticket needed during the lesson sessions when they are with their instructor and wearing their bib, A SEASON PASS or Daily Lift Ticket allows them to keep skiing or riding before and after their lesson). Lookout Pass tries to make youth Season Pass affordable.

  • THE RENTAL SHOP @ Lookout Pass – Has all the skis, poles, boots and snowboard equipment you need. It is important that you get good equipment that fits correctly. Poor fitting equipment (too large, too long, too stiff, too old) is dangerous and makes it much harder for the kids to learn.
    ORDER your Lookout Pass SEASON LONG RENTALS PACKAGES BEFORE THE DEADLINE.
    Quantities are limited in each size.    
  • PURCHASE LIFT TICKETS IN ADVANCE if you don’t have or can’t swing a Season Pass – Better Yet Get them a $59 Advantage Card
    Their First Lift Ticket is FREE with the Advantage Card. Then cardholders will save $10/Ticket at the Ticket window.
